You’ll
need:
A
penny for each team
A
spoon for each member on the team
A
chair for each team
A
whistle or horn
How
to play:
Divide
the group evenly into two or more small teams.
Each
team stands in a line. Give each person on the team
a spoon.
The
first person in each line puts a penny on a spoon. Once
the penny is in the spoon, participants are not allowed
to touch the penny with their fingers.
If
the penny falls, they must use their spoon to scoop
up the penny to continue the relay.
A
chair is set at the far end of the relay area.
On
the signal, the first player in line on each team carries
the penny on the spoon to the chair, circles the chair
three times and returns to the line.
The
first player then transfers the penny to the spoon of
the second player, then goes to the end of the line.
The second player now runs to the chair, circles the
chair three times and returns to the line.
The
second player transfers the penny to the spoon of the
third player and then goes to the end of the line.
Play
continues until the first player is back at the front
of the line and has the penny in his or her spoon. The
first team to finish wins.
